The forward has registered 5 finishes in 10 domestic competition appearances during the current campaign.

Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr has said sorry to the fanbase for his reaction when replaced in the recent heated El Clasico win.

He was replaced in the 72nd minute and expressed his disappointment by walking immediately down the tunnel.

Vinicius subsequently came back to the dugout and, after his side's 2-1 victory, attempted to approach Barça's Lamine Yamal during contentious post-match scenes.

"Now I want to express regret to all the Real Madrid fans for my behavior when I was taken off in the derby," he posted on X.

"Similarly to I have said in person during the latest session, I wish to express regret anew to my team-mates, the organization, and the president.

"At times passion gets the better of me because I continuously aim to succeed and assist my club. My determined nature stems from the passion I hold for this team and everything it stands for."

He signed for Madrid from Brazil in recent years for millions and has scored over a century of strikes in numerous matches.

But his prospects in the Madrid is uncertain with speculation in recent months suggesting that Los Blancos would consider letting the player leave if they got a good proposal.

When he was taken off on the match day, cameras from coverage provider the platform captured him stating: "Always me! I'm exiting the club! It's better if I leave, I'm moving on."

In his new statement on X, he said: "I commit to keep striving every second for the good of the club, as I have performed since the initial arrival."
