Thomas Tuchel Questions Home Fan Atmosphere Despite Comfortable Win Over Wales.

Thomas Tuchel voiced his disappointment that the England team did not enjoy greater support from the Wembley spectators during their impressive friendly win against Wales on Thursday night.

Tuchel was pleased to see his side continue their good form, with goals from Morgan Rogers, Watkins, and Saka inside the opening quarter effectively ending the contest. But, he was displeased with the mood at the iconic venue.

“With one and a half sessions to prepare against a drilled team and we excelled,” the coach remarked. “We could have been 5-0 up at the break. We missed the fourth and fifth ones. The stadium was silent. We didn’t get any energy back from the stands. Our team gave their all to win.”

“What more can you give in the first quarter? We didn’t let them get away. When you only hear just the Welsh supporters for 30 minutes, it’s disappointing because the team deserved greater backing today.”

“I stand by this statement. There’s nothing more than leading three goals up in a derby. I would have wished for a greater support in phases where it gets difficult.”

“In the second half, to support us, there was excessive backing for the opposition. It might have aided us to regain energy, but it is what it is and that is it.”

Selection Choices Vindicated by Performance

Apart from potentially starting a fight with supporters, the manager also raised eyebrows by excluding Bellingham and Foden from his squad. But the decision was justified by Rogers delivering another standout performance in the attacking midfield role and getting his maiden goal for his country.

“He is what he is,” the head coach explained. “He operates as an attacking midfielder and he is vying for his spot.”

Bellamy Hopes for Improvement from Defeat

Craig Bellamy expressed hope that his team, who host a strong Belgian side in a key World Cup qualifier on next week, improve after their awful performance in the opening period.

“This is why I wanted this game,” Bellamy said. “I wanted to assess where we are. What are our ambitions? What is our identity? This performance fills me with motivation.”

Fitness Worry for Watkins

Watkins was substituted at the break after hitting a post and is a concern when England face their next opponents in Riga in a qualifier on Tuesday.
